New custom Craftsman style residence
The north facing Coventry CT lakefront project site was initially accessible over a 14% grade straight access driveway. The client requested a one-bedroom traditional design house with generous entertainment space, greenhouse garden room, guest bedroom/office 2 car garage and focused views of the lake but not of the west nearby neighbors.
The resultant design included an s-shaped driveway of under 9% grade and Craftsman style split level layout plan. The north elevation and view facing living room included unique light tunnel shafts to the southern roof exposure. The greenhouse was positioned on the south side and adjacent to the kitchen for good exposure and easy service. |
